Hurrah for Al Gore and his movie and his Live Earth. Does it take all this to finally wake up the U.S. government to a major problem? It takes SOOOOO much concerted action to change the course of a few with narrow interests and yet the power to control a nation. The good news is that action can make changes. The bad news is that too few will take the action necessary.
Showing support for Kyoto's ratification will make a big difference for voters looking for a candidate who really wants to work cooperatively on the problem of climate change.
More support for alternative fuels and incetives is also a plus. A good candidate is going to have to bite the bullet and ignore the powerful oil lobby to really start making a diference here in the US. There are so many consumers out there hungry for alternatives to oil and the automobile, but again, big oil and the auto industy have a chokehold on our government...

It is paramount that the next administration move aggressively towards uniting economic growth with environmental issues in our nation. As a question to the candidates, how would you move forward with a plan of action to accomplish these goals?
